Disconnected

A couple of days ago my communication with friends was put to a standstill.
My phone died.
Completely went blank so I can't tell if it's on/off, or who is calling, who has called, and worst of all....I CAN'T TEXT.
Which is the worst because it's something I do all. day. long.
It's what I do to seem cool in the halls at school, pass the time at home alone, and talk with my besties who live far away.
The truth is, I've had a hard time finding a replacement. So I'm hoping I can find one soon and will quit having that feeling like I'm walking around naked.

No chicks and bunnies for me, thanks.

Because what Easter is really meant to be about, is this:
...for He has risen, just as He said. ~ Matthew 28:6
Praise God that my Savior is alive!

All that other stuff? (ie. chocolate, peeps, eggs) It's just a bonus.

Easter Agenda:
Wake up before 5 to be up and ready for anonymous boy. We got to go worship our Lord together this morning at Sunrise Service which started at 6. It's so quiet, crisp, and peaceful at that time!
Stop at Starbucks.
Drive to normal church for breakfast, laughs with the gals, and more worship time.
Stop at Starbucks with the fam.
Make Easter lunch and eat.
Then drive and eat with anonymous boy's fam.
(Seriously, is food not the best?)
Finish up the evening with homework due tomorrow. Always having to come back to reality.

In-between church and home I got to go visit these guys:
They were the cutest things to see on Easter!
But it also made me think of the Lamb that was sacrificed for me so that I might spend an eternity with my Creator. Unlike the lambs I saw today, He was unblemished, perfect, and yet He took on sin and died, paying my debts, then rose again.
Remembering His love for His church is my favorite part about Easter.

Wandering Thoughts Wednesday

i miss this.
Because together we are the definition of awesome.
(Notice the girls are so photogenic and the guys are thinking, "When will this be overrrr?")
Apart, we are just the everyday use of the word awesome.
Us four together is the bombdotcom. And even though big brother G (guy on the left) is away doing things that I fully support him in...it's ok to miss him.
And I can't wait till he visits again and we can all laugh hard together.
That will be an awesome day.

Something New

I meant to start this new thing this Wednesday, but school and life caught up with me and it completely left my brain until last night, as I was laying in bed, it hit me that I never posted. Which actually still would've been late 'cause, as we all know, today is Friday so obviously yesterday would've been Thursday. Forgive the oh so "duh" conclusions I come to...I just got done doing an hours worth of logic homework.
So. The "new thing." I'm calling it....
Wandering Thoughts Wednesday.
I've been looking at other blogs and everyone seems to have this special thing they do each week, so....I want to start one too. :)
Wandering Thoughts is basically an excuse to post random things that I've been thinking/feeling throughout the week, accompanied by a picture.
I'm so excited for the first post. And yes, I already know what it will be, but it's something that is relevant now, and probably will be for awhile.
So, for the two or three of you who do read my blog: make sure you check back on Wednesday!!

soul surfer

Mom and I had a girl evening at the movies today. We went to see "Soul Surfer"-the story about Bethany Hamilton who was attacked by a shark and lost her arm while surfing and has overcome that and is now a professional surfer.
Her testimony of the Lord is astounding! And the fact that it was thrown in throughout the whole entire movie was so exciting to see.
Her determination, strength, and the way she handled all aspects of encountering something so life changing was such an encouragement.
Everyone should totally read about her story or go see the movie!

The Two became One

Oh how I love weddings. They bring such happiness!
Two of my friends got married to each other today. How convenient, right? :)
I've known both of them for about three years or so and had the privilege of going to Haiti on a mission trip with the groom and have had many girl chats and nights with the bride.
I'm so excited for them in this new life together!
Not to mention that it was a gorgeous day and the wind didn't even pick up until after they left.
And there was cheesecake for dessert.
Nummy in my tummy.

Girls Night

Courtesy of stitchkingdom.com

Last night, was Girls Night.
I went over to my super awesome, random, and crazy friends house and watched Tangled with four other wonderful ladies.
We ate Skittles, Red Licorice, Pretzels, Brownies, and Lemonade. Well, we drank that.
But the best part was the pizza from Pizza Hut. With stuffed crust. Nuummmmm.
After the movie we talked about boys, played with each others hair, and laughed so hard I thought we would die.
Hopefully the kiddos in the apartment below us got to sleep okay after a few of us fell off the couch....
Super. fun. night.
:)

On this day...nothing happened.

I'm quite serious.
Nothing happened. Well nothing worth noting anyway.
It was just another day in the life of any community college student.
I learned how to win at the game entitled "Student Manipulation" that teachers have mastered oh so well.
I ate a corn-dog.
I talked on the phone with one of my besties.
And now, I'm listening to the wind whip around the house while working on some homework before I get picked up to head back into school for a night class.

Yay for TOMS

It's TOMS One Day Without Shoes!!

I had the privilege of walking allllll around campus barefoot, raising awareness for kids who go without shoes everyday.
Here are some interesting facts:
1. Podoconiosis is a debilitating and disfiguring disease that is caused by walking barefoot in volcanic soil.
2. In Ethiopia approximately ONE MILLION people are suffering from this.
3. It is also "100% preventable by practicing basic foot hygiene and wearing shoes."
4. If you buy a pair of TOMS shoes, another pair gets given to a kid who needs them.

So today, I joined other TOMS lovers at my school and loads of people all over the world in supporting TOMS and their mission. And to get kids some shoes!

If you want more info you should totally check out toms.com or www.onedaywithoutshoes.com. Cause that's where I got all of my info!

P.S. The best part about going barefoot was high-fiving other students walking from class to class who also weren't wearing shoes.
I still don't know their names :)

Praise God for TOMS!

Today was a winter wonderland :)

The alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. Some might think it's crazy.
Well actually, it is.
But not once you get up on the mountain and have a crazy-awesome day of snowboarding and laughs with friends.
Getting up there was a bit tricky...with early morning car trouble, tickets expiring, etc.
Lucky for us it all worked out in the end and we all had a fantastic day in the snow.
BONUS: We even made it home safely.
Definitely a day to remember!

When the books came.

Let's see. All of my college books arrived just in time for school.
Yay me.
The most enjoyable part about receiving them is what came along in the box.
Bubbles!
What can I say...I'm easily amused.
Peace.

while Squirrel was sleeping...

Let me introduce you to my pup. His name is Squirrel.
Try not to think too much about it and it won't be weird.

Four words that sum up my day:
~Starbucks
~Horses
~Sun-tanning
~Friends

Such a relaxing week that I think I might just about die when school starts again on Monday.
